Danny Vitale is headed to New England, signing with the Patriots for the 2020-2021 season. According to media reports, Packers representatives were in talks with Vitale’s agent about having the fullback return next season. It was not considered a top priority though, as coach Matt LaFleur’s offense is similar to other modern schemes, there isn’t a lot of playing time for a fullback.
In a separate move on the offensive side of the ball, the Packers have resigned tight end Mercedes Lewis. He had 15 catches for 156 yards and a touchdown last season. Lewis is better known for his blocking abilities.
