WBCA All-Star Game helps provide closure for athletes

With the abrupt cancellation of the WIAA postseason basketball tournament, those still on the court never got the chance to find out if they are champions. Sectional champion Wrightstown will have two players in the Division 3 All-Star Game. Bridget Froehlke and Ella Diny will be looking for closure that the season never provided. That could mean the game turns into more than just an exhibition. Also on the roster for the Division 3 North team is Kewaunee High School’s Mackenzie Tlachac. The game is tentatively scheduled for 12:30 PM on Friday, June 19th.

The boys’ tournament was a weekend behind the girls. No sectional champions were crowned, meaning even more teams and athletes were left knowing a state title was still a possibility. That includes Iola-Scandinavia and Justin Sivertson. He’ll suit up for the Division 4 White Squad on Saturday, June 20th, alongside Southern Door’s Ryan Claflin.

Tlachac will be playing for UW-Oshkosh in the fall. Claflin is committed to UWGB.
