The National Football League announced on Thursday that two anthems would be played during pregame ceremonies before all games during Week One. The official anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, will be sung as is customary, but it will happen after a tune named “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” a song dubbed the black national anthem. Assuming players revive protests of years prior, the ceremony could prove incredibly divisive. Green Bay is on the road for the first game of the year against Minnesota. They have not commented yet on whether they intend something similar for the Lambeau Field opener against the Detroit Lions the following week.
