The Kewaunee County Spartans showed some grit in its games on Tuesday against Little Chute.
The varsity squad gave up two unearned runs early, but were able to score two of their own later in the game to tie it. Pitching and defense kept it that way until the game was called after 10 innings.
The JV team gave Coach Willems some early stress by giving up 8 runs in the top of the first. The Spartans did not let that discourage them, scoring 11 unanswered runs to secure an 11-8 victory.
