Packers to continue chase for college football, draft

Some of the newest details released by the Green Bay Packers during their Thursday shareholders meeting had nothing to do with the 53 men in their locker room.

The nearly 105 minutes shared the good news already shared during the week which included record revenue and the progress made with stadium renovations and changes at its practice fields and the Titletown entertainment complex. New to the discussion was the organization attempt to get more college football to Lambeau Field. Canceled in 2020, President and CEO Mark Murphy said they are working with Notre Dame and Wisconsin to reschedule the game for 2022 since the two college programs are scheduled to play at Soldier Field in 2021. The Packers have also applied to host the Big Ten championship game, citing the conference's willingness to move the game around the region and the new commissioners as reasons for the bid. Murphy also expressed optimism for the organization's bid to host the NFL Draft thanks to progress in Titletown and the Resch Expo building currently under construction.
