Brewers' bats come alive in win

The Milwaukee Brewers made the Chicago Cubs pitchers pay in their 8-3 victory at Wrigley Field Saturday.

After the Cubs scored a run off Corbin Burnes in the first inning, Eric Sogard tied the game in the second inning on a RBI single. Ben Gamel legged out a two-RBI triple in the fourth inning and Justin Smoak hit a home run in the fifth to give the Brewers a lead they would not give up. Christian Yelich's two run bomb in the sixth inning erased the damage done in the bottom of the fifth and the Brewers bullpen did the rest. The Brewers would score additional insurance runs in the seventh inning thanks to RBI hits by Omar Navaez and Lorenzo Cain. The Brewers and the Cubs wrap up their opening weekend set at Wrigley Sunday at 1:20 p.m.
