Ace pitcher Brandon Woodruff was all the Milwaukee Brewers would need in their 3-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday night.
Woodruff pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-hit ball while striking out 10 Pirates. Ben Gamel and Keston Hiura each hit home runs in the win, with Gamel's the big two-run blow in the third inning. David Phelps, Devin Williams and Josh Hader finished the game up for the Brewers, allowing just one single over the last 2 2/3 innings of play.
The Brewers will get Thursday off before their home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals Friday at 1:10 p.m.
