White Sox outlast Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers could not hold off a late rally by the Chicago White Sox, falling in their home opener 6-4 Monday night.

After the White Sox scored twice on run-scoring outs in the first inning, Avisail Garcia led the Brewers attack with first-inning double that drove in Christian Yelich and a two-run single in the fifth inning. Ben Gamel capped the scoring for the Brewers in the sixth inning with an RBI single.  The White Sox would tie it in the seventh with a Jose Abreu two-run shot. Brewers reliever David Phelps walked in the game-winning run in the eighth inning while facing White Sox rookie Nick Madrigal while Yoan Moncada scored an insurance run with a homer off Corey Knebel. With the tying run on second base, Alex Colome shut the door on the Brewers in the bottom of the ninth to spoil the team's season debut at Miller Park. The two teams play each other again Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.
