Egg Harbor Public Safety Committee okays Fall 50

The Fall 50 is still on for October after organizer Sean Ryan presented to the Egg Harbor Public Safety Committee on Wednesday morning. Ryan pointed out that the run is different from a traditional marathon in that there isn’t a mass start. Five hundred teams start over a nearly four-hour time period and tend to be spread over at least 30 miles. The event asks Egg Harbor to keep the public restroom facilities at the marina available, particularly for female participants who are reluctant to use portable bathrooms. Ryan said the main concern from public health officials is the after-party in Sturgeon Bay, and that is being modified this year.

Approval by the committee was unanimous.
