Green Bay Swept by Dock Spiders

The Green Bay Booyah didn’t record their first hit of the game until the ninth inning as they fell 3-1 to Fond du Lac in the final road game of the year.

The lone hit for the Booyah came off the bat of Princeton sophomore Nadir Lewis. After Lewis reached base to put runners on second and third, Stephen Hrustich grounded out to third to score Andy Blake for the only run on Tuesday night. The left-handed hitting Lewis finished the night 1-for-4. Green Bay only scored one run during the course of the two-game set in Fond du Lac.

Starter Ben Hart threw six strong innings from the left side, giving up two runs, although neither of them were earned. However, Hart fell to 0-4 on the year, despite his ERA dropping from 4.50 to 3.54. Out of the bullpen, Brad Deboutte went two innings, giving up an earned run and striking out one Dock Spider batter. The Booyah committed five errors defensively on the evening, three of which came in the fifth inning.

Despite the loss, Green Bay still sits a half game in front of Rockford for the final playoff spot of the 2020 season. With a win either tomorrow or Thursday over the Rivets, the Booyah will clinch the last spot and head to Fond du Lac for the opening round of the playoffs on Friday. Rockford would need to win both games at Capital Credit Union Park to surpass the Booyah and head to the postseason.

First pitch on the home turf is scheduled for 6:35pm tomorrow night against the Rivets. Green Bay will look to one of the top pitchers of their staff all season long in Logan Lee to push them into the playoffs. The Northwood right hander has a 2-0 record with a 3.26 earned run average this year.
