Gibraltar sticks to fall sports delay

Athletes at Gibraltar Secondary School will have to wait till spring to play.

According to the athletic director Peggy Tanck, the Gibraltar School Board stuck by its original decision to delay the fall sports season to the alternative spring season. That vote took place the same week Southern Door and Kewaunee voted to move ahead with a fall sports season and Sturgeon Bay opted to wait until spring. Other local schools pushing ahead with a fall sports season include Algoma, Luxemburg-Casco, and Sevastopol. Even with that, the Packerland Conference is not allowing competitions to take place if the COVID-19 activity level remains at their current status. It would need to drop to low or medium for games to occur. If the conference can not get at least half of their games in this fall, they could also move their fall slate to the alternative spring season.
