Milwaukee got a tough weekend series off to a good start Friday night, with a 7-1 win over the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. A fielding error by Cleveland first baseman Carlos Santana helped the Crew push across four in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie. The pivotal mistake was sandwiched between a Keston Huira RBI double to right, and a Ryan Braun single that plated a run. Huira’s power trip continued an inning later with a two-run homer.
Starter Corbin Burnes had another great outing, giving up one unearned run in six innings on just three hits. At 18-19, the Brewers are now officially in line for a wild card spot in the National League.
