Spartan girls second, boys third in Freedom cross country meet

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans cross country teams boasted three top-10 finishes in its second meet of the year at Freedom on Friday.

 

The boys' team led things off with a third-place finish out of five teams, scoring 76 points. That was 52 points behind another strong performance from Freedom which had all five of its scoring runners finish in the top 10. Sophomore Spencer Thiry led the way for the Spartans, finishing the 5K course in 17:36 for an eighth-place finish.

 

The girls' team took second in their race, finishing 25 points behind first-place Freedom. Top ten finishers included junior Megan Vandermause (21:32,  3rd) and sophomore Eva Junion (21:46, 6th) on the 5K course.
