The Green Bay Packers are on the road to open the season, and due to COVID-19 restrictions, that will have a different look to it. According to Pro Football Talk, a standard road trip means an early Saturday afternoon plane ride followed by a couple of hours of free time for players to get dinner or meet friends before team meetings to hammer out last-minute game plan adjustments. This year, the flight is a little later on Saturday, and players will not be leaving their hotel until it is time to put on pads Sunday morning.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur says the coaching staff and front office are working on different activities for the players for Saturday night. Videos from the NBA and NHL earlier this summer showed teams doing movie night together, among other things. LaFleur hopes that the restrictions can help the team bond together early in the season.
