Brewers throttle Tigers

A club record thirteen extra-base hits and a one-hit performance by Corbin Burnes set the stage for a 19-0 win for the Milwaukee Brewers over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday.

The Brewers put up crooked numbers in five of the six innings they scored in including a five-run sixth inning and a four-run ninth inning. Luis Urias led the way offensively with three hits while driving in five runs. Avisail Garcia, Jedd Gyorko, Ryan Braun, Tyrone Taylor, and Jacob Nottingham all had at least two RBI in the game with Taylor, Gyorko (twice), and Braun going deep for the Crew. One run was all the Brewers really needed thanks to a strong performance by Burnes, who went seven innings of one-hit ball with 11 strikeouts.

The Brewers will have Thursday off before hosting the Chicago Cubs for a weekend series at Miller Park.
