Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams add pieces

The Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams have been busy this week adding pieces.

On the women's side, the Phoenix added former standout Mehryn Kraker to its coaching staff. Kraker's pedigree sits in the Phoenix record books as among the program's leaders in points and made field goals, three-pointers, and blocked shot. She was also the last Phoenix player to be drafted by the WNBA.

For the men, they added a new non-conference opponent to its home slate. They will welcome Eastern Illinois to the Resch Center on December 5th. It comes after the NCAA's men's basketball oversight committee proposed Nov. 25 as the start date for the 2020-21 college basketball season. That means matchups on November 10th at Oklahoma State and a home game against Montana State on November 14th will need to be moved to a later day. New head coach Will Ryan also filled out his 2021 recruiting class with Cuba City forward Brayden Dailey. He's averaged 20 points a season for Cuba City during his two years on the squad and was leading the team to an undefeated season before the pandemic led to its cancellation. He made his announcement on social media on Labor Day.
