L-C volleyball starts season on the road

After weeks of summer tournaments, the Luxemburg-Casco volleyball team officially begins their regular season Thursday night in Wrightstown.

The Tigers played their first match on Tuesday against Freedom, failing to score at least 20 points in two of the three sets as they lost 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-21).

Thursday marks the first WIAA match the Spartans have played since they won the state title last year against McFarland. They made the finals in most of their summer league tournaments, winning at least two of them. Emma Johnson and Grace Holschuh are just some of the players highly ranked in the state and head coach Jeff Frey told the NEW Radio Sports Network about some of the other girls that could make noise this season.

The Spartans travel to Wrightstown for their NEC matchup with the opening serve taking place at 7 p.m. You can listen to the full podcast with Coach Frey online at NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
