Packers Impress on Sunday Night

For the third straight game, the Green Bay Packers(3-0) offense started slow and finished fast as they beat the Saints(1-2) 37-30. The Packers were able to move the ball with ease but could only come up with three points in each of their first two possessions. The Saints were able to move the ball as well with running back Alvin Kamara being the star on offense. After going up 13-7, the Packers gave up 10 straight points and were trailing 17-13 at the half. After a 72 yard pass to Allen Lazard on 3rd and 10, Aaron Jones was able to punch it into the endzone on 4th and goal to give Green Bay a 20-17 lead. The Saints were able to come back and kick a field goal to tie the game. The two teams then traded touchdowns and the Packers were facing a crucial 4th and one from mid-field. After getting stuffed on an Aaron Jones run, the momentum seemed to be in the Saints favor. Two plays into the Saints drive, Za’Darius Smith was able to come up with a huge forced fumble to turn the tide. Mason Crosby gave the Packers a 30-27 lead with a 49-yard field goal. After a New Orleans punt, Aaron Rodgers was able to lead the Packers on a game-clinching touchdown drive that ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Robert Tonyan with just under two minutes left. Aaron Rodgers finished with 283 yards passing and three touchdowns. Allen Lazard filled Davante Adams’ shoes with six catches for 146 yards and a score. The Saints’ Alvin Kamara finished with 197 total yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers will host the Falcons next Monday at 7:15 p.m.
