Brewers last of eight playoff games Wednesday

The American League began the first-ever Wild Card Series Tuesday, with the National League joining suit on Wednesday. The Milwaukee Brewers will be featured in the final game of eight separate contests. The Wild Card series is best-of-three, with every game hosted by the lower seed. For the National League, the  Brewers will be at NL-best Los Angeles and historic Dodger Stadium. Ace Corbin Burnes is out with injury, so the Crew is attempting to piece together a performance kicked off by Brent Suter. Suter started only four games during the regular season.

The best-of-three format creates unpredictability. Baseball is a sport where the best team wins only 60 percent of the time, and when you get towards the postseason, with two quality teams involved, that drops towards a toss-up. One bad game and all of a sudden, it’s win-or-your-out for the home team. Fans saw a lot of that Tuesday. Of the four AL matchups, three were won by the visitors and supposed underdogs. If the Crew can steal Game One, they catapult to the driver’s seat.
