Brewers May Cut Payroll

The Milwaukee Brewers are considering cutting the teams’ payroll for the 2021 season. Due to COVID-19, the MLB regular season was cut from 162 games down to just 60 games. Teams across the league missed out on a massive amount of revenue due to cutting the season down and not allowing fans. This hit is even bigger on small-market teams like the Brewers. For a team that is always in the bottom half of the league in spending when it comes to roster construction, expect there to be more changes to come in 2021. General Manager David Stearns did not say how much the teams’ payroll may be cut down.
