L-C cross country runs well at Northbrook

The Luxemburg-Casco cross country team took second in both the boys and girls race in a home meet at Northbrook Golf Course on Friday. In the boy's competition, the Spartans finished with a team score of 60, only trailing Freedoms’ score of 19. Denmark and Oconto Falls recorded scores of 81 and 82 while Marinette didn’t have enough runners to qualify. The Spartans were led by Spencer Thiry who finished in seventh with a time of 18:34. Gabe Havel wasn’t far behind as he took ninth finishing in 18:56. The remaining scorers all finished in the top 22.

The Spartan girls also took second as they recorded a score of 43. Freedom took the girl's competition with a score of 20. Marinette and Oconto Falls finished with scores of 86 and 91 while Denmark didn’t have enough runners to qualify. The Spartans were spectacular as all five scorers finished in the top 12 with three of them finishing in the top eight. Megan Vandermaus led the way as she took fifth finishing in 21:52.

The Spartans are back in action on October 15 at Winnegamie Golf Course.
