There will be no Fifth Quarter, Bucky Badger, or fans, but there will be football Friday night at Camp Randall Stadium when the Wisconsin Badgers host the Fighting Illini of Illinois.
The Illini stunned the Badgers in Champaign last season as a 30.5 point underdog, stealing the game as time expired for a 24-23 victory. One matchup to watch could be between the two quarterbacks. Brandon Peters returns for the Illini after leading them to a six-win season and their first bowl game appearance in several seasons. He started 11 games last year, throwing for 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions. On the Badgers sideline is redshirt freshman Graham Mertz, who will be making his first start under center. The highly regarded recruit was thrown into action when incumbent starter Jack Coan hurt his foot in practice.
The Badgers and the Illini will kick off at 7 p.m.
