Saturday's tilt against the Nebraska Cornhuskers could be in jeopardy for the Wisconsin Badgers.
According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the game is close to being canceled due to elevated positive COVID-19 test results at UW-Madison. It means the Badgers are close to the Red/Red threshold, which puts the team's positivity rate at 5 percent and above and the population positivity rate at 7.5 percent and above. If it crosses a certain threshold, the Badgers would have to shut down practice and competition for at least a week. With no makeup dates available, the game would go down in the record books as a no-contest.
COVID-19 has stolen the headlines from a Badgers football team that trounced Illinois in its season opener last Friday. It hopes to play this Saturday against Nebraska in Lincoln at 2:30 p.m.
