Spartans volleyball hopes to take next step against Valders on 96.7 WBDK

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans volleyball team hopes to get one step closer to the state tournament when they host Valders Thursday night.

The Vikings have drawn some parallels to the Spartans. Both advanced out of their regionals as the #1 seed by winning their matches in straight sets. The Spartans defeated Two Rivers 25-15, 25-12, and 25-15. The Vikings won their matches over Kiel (25-21, 25-14, 25-18) and Wrightstown (25-23, 25-15, 25-14) Valders also lost out on some opportunities to play out the entire season due to COVID-19 issues. Head coach Jeff Frey says Valders is a better team than their 10-9 record indicates.

Frey says last week's conference matches against Freedom and Fox Valley Lutheran got them ready for their upcoming sectional matchups.

You can listen to our full interview with Coach Frey on the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Central Podcast page. Tyler Thrune and Tim Kowols will have the call on the NEW Radio Sports Network and 96.7 WBDK beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show followed by first serve at 7 p.m.
