Edgewood drops out of Volleyball State Tournament

The #2 seeded Edgewood volleyball team, a potential foe of #1 Luxemburg-Casco for the state championship game, has pulled out of the state tournament.  According to the WIAA, Edgewood informed WIAA officials on Tuesday that they have voluntarily withdrawn from the State Girls Volleyball Tournament scheduled for Saturday.  Based on the Board of Control approved COVID-19 pandemic accommodations, Platteville, the most recently defeated opponent will replace Edgewood on the Division 2 bracket.  Platteville will play #3 Lakeside Lutheran at 4 pm while Luxemburg-Casco is scheduled to play #4 St. Croix Falls at 1 pm in the state semi-finals.  Winners will play at 7 pm for the championship.  The New Radio Sports Network and WBDK 96.7FM will broadcast the Spartan broadcasts starting at 12:30 pm with the pre-match show and 6:30 pm before the championship if Luxemburg-Casco advances.
