Gamblers suffer first loss of the season

The Green Bay Gamblers could not keep up with the Chicago Steel Friday night in Bensenville, losing 7-3.

The Steel jumped all over Matt Davis, scoring five of their seven goals in the game's first 27 minutes. The Gamblers did start the game on a positive note with Cam Thiesing scoring his first goal of the season, receiving the puck from Mason Lohrei and Jesse Tucker. The Steel then rattled off six straight goals, led by Matthew Coronato's two goals and one assist during that span. Thiesing found the back of the net with help from Jake Schmaltz to stop the streak. The two teams traded goals in the third period with Kyler Grundy scoring his second goal.

The venue switches to the Resch Center Saturday night as the Gamblers host the Steel at 7:05 p.m. Tobin Meyer will have the call on 104.1 WRLU and streaming worldwide at NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com.
