The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball season got off on a strong note on Saturday with a 69-61 over the Drake Bulldogs.
Caitlyn Hibner led the way with a game-high 24 points while freshman forward Jasmine Kondrakiewicz chipped in 15 points. She joined former Luxemburg-Casco star Cassie Schiltz as the only two freshmen in the starting lineup. Against a team that was likely heading to the NCAA Tournament before COVID-19, the Phoenix shot 50.9% overall (27-for-53), including 37.5% from behind the arc (6-for-16).
The Phoenix will next head to North Dakota State for a weekend slate.
