Waiting game for Brewers affiliates

The Milwaukee Brewers' minor league affiliates like the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are waiting to see where their 2021 seasons may fall.

Minor League Baseball did not play last year due to COVID-19, though many of their facilities like Timber Rattlers' did get used for MLB's taxi squad. Even heading into the 2020 season, MLB was looking to make significant changes to MiLB, including cutting ties with nearly a quarter of its teams. In recent weeks, MLB has named some independent leagues as partners with them and some organizations have announced their affiliations for 2021. The Brewers have not gone that far quite yet. According to MLB.com writer Adam McCalvy, the only thing that is certain is that its AAA affiliate, the San Antonio Missions, is moving back to AA. President of Baseball Operations David Stearns recently expressed his appreciation for having the Appleton-based organization remain an affiliate for the Brewers, but the decision may lie with if their league, the Midwest League, remains in low A or high A.
