Badgers fall to Iowa

The Wisconsin Badgers' offense could not get much going as they lost the Heartland Trophy to Iowa 28-7.

Graham Mertz struggled for a third straight game, throwing for 169 yards and an interception. Nakia Watson scored the only touchdown for the Badgers on the day with a rushing score in the third quarter. The Badgers were able to hold the Hawkeyes to single field goals in the first and second quarters before erupting for 15 points in the third. Spencer Petras threw for 211 yards and two scores in the win for the Hawkeyes. It was the first time in over five years the Hawkeyes were able to get a win against the Badgers.

The Badgers could be facing Penn State in next week's crossover slate to cap off the season, but rumors surfaced last week that officials were requesting a game against Minnesota to keep their traditional matchup alive after it was canceled earlier this season.
