Phoenix drop another

The Green Bay Phoenix mens’ basketball team dropped another game to the Milwaukee Panthers in the home opening weekend of Horizon League play, 74-62.

Green Bay went basket for basket with the Panthers and finished the first half tied, 35-35. Second half play consisted of hard fought basketball but Green Bay was powerless while Milwaukee went on a 13-1 run to pull away and seal the game up. Green Bay’s Amari Davis led the team with 21 points, hitting 75% from the three-point line. PJ Pipes added 13 points for Green Bay and Josh Jefferson marked 12 points in the loss. The Phoenix were outrebounded 39-30 and lost the shooting percentage battle at the free throw line, 78%-64%. Green Bay will have another opportunity to collect their first win of the season when they head to Wright State on December 26th for a pair of conference games.
