Badgers celebrate Christmas in winning fashion

The ninth ranked Wisconsin Badgers mens’ basketball team threw up a win on the road over the 12th ranked Michigan State Spartans on Christmas day, 85-76.

The Badgers improved to 8-l overall and 2-0 in Big Ten Conference play on Christmas day. Wisconsin’s road victory at Michigan State is the first time since 2004 that the program has won at the Breslin Center, the victory qualified as their 10th consecutive conference win aging back to last season. Wisconsin’s D’Mitrik Trice was cooking from the field early on to generate a tied game to end the first half, 42-42. Second half play saw the Badgers outscore the Spartans by nine points for a Christmas day victory gift. Trice finished with 29 points while Aleem Ford added 13 of his own for the Badgers. Wisconsin shared close numbers with the Spartans but ceased opportunity on points off turnovers with 24 compared to Michigan State's nine points. Steven Point, Wisconsin native Joey Hauser led Michigan State with 27 points on the day but it was not enough to scare off Bucky. The Badgers will travel back home to face Maryland next Monday for another conference game at 6pm.
