Green Bay and Wright State traded punches for the majority of the game until a late run in the second half gave the Raiders the 67-53 victory.
Both teams struggled from the field in the first half with the Raiders narrowly escaping to the break with a 23-21 lead. The offenses started to pick up as the second half began with the two teams still going back and forth. A 10-2 run for the Raiders eventually did the Phoenix in as they struggled to get within six points the final eight minutes of the game.
Amari Davis scored a team-high 13 points while P.J. Pipes pitched in another 11 points. The Raiders had two players have double-doubles in the victory with Loudon Love (17pts, 14reb) and teammate Tanner Holden (18pts, 10rebs) leading the way.
The two teams will match up again in Dayton, Ohio starting at 1 p.m.
