Badgers plummet to Maryland

The Wisconsin Badgers mens’ basketball team plummeted to the Maryland Terrapins on Monday evening, 70-64.

The Badgers threw their perfect conference record down the drain and diminished their 11-game conference win streak. The underdog Terps were down four points at halftime to the Badgers, 28-24. Second half play saw Maryland go on an early 8-0 scoring run while Wisconsin did not score for three minutes during that stretch. The Badgers regained the lead with six minutes left to play but could not find an offensive rhythm giving Maryland the keys to victory. Maryland outshot the Badgers from the free-throw line by 33% and stopped Wisconsin from earning any fast break points. Wisconsin’s D’Mitrik Trice carried his team throughout the game with 25 points while shooting 50% from the field. Aleem Ford was the only other Badger to capture double-digit figures in the game. Wisconsin descended to 8-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. Wisconsin will look to bounce back at home on New Years Eve against Minnesota for a 3:30pm tip-off.
