Packerland Conference wrestling schools are taking advantage of a new WIAA directive that is allowing for more matches against different teams.
While tournaments are still off the radar and teams can only wrestling once a week, that one day a week can now be triangular and quadrangular meets. By allowing three to four teams in one location, schools like Southern Door, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol, and Kewaunee can potentially get more matches for their kids. Southern Door wrestling coach Jerry Englebert says it is good news for their team.
As a result, Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will travel to Bonduel for a quad meet against Amherst and Bonduel on Thursday. Also on Thursday, Kewaunee will travel to Wittenberg to face Peshtigo, Rosholt, and Wittenberg-Birnamwood. As of Tuesday morning, Luxemburg-Casco just has single-team duals remaining including this Thursday against Freedom.
