Girls' basketball preview: Postseason matchups announced

One game is on the docket for Monday, but area teams are looking ahead to next week's start of the WIAA Playoffs.

Kewaunee will travel to Sturgeon Bay to make up its postponed game from last month. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The WIAA announced its playoff pairings over the weekend. The area's teams are grouped together as a part of the WIAA's pod structure due to the pandemic.

DIVISION 2

Luxemburg- Casco will host Ashwaubenon in the first round on February 9th. A win would set them on a collision course against top-seeded Notre Dame in Green Bay on February 12. A potential regional title game on February 13th could be against West De Pere, Two Rivers, or Denmark.

DIVISION 3

Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door will battle each other in Brussels and Kewaunee will play host to Chilton in the first round on February 9th. The two teams will have to go through tough tasks to play each other in a potential regional championship game. The Storm could play Wrightstown and the Eagles or Clippers would have to travel to face Brillion on February 12th.

DIVISION 4

Gibraltar will travel to Sevastopol and Algoma heads to Manitowoc Lutheran for their first-round match-ups on February 9th. With wins, the Vikings or Pioneers could play top-seeded Mishicot while the Wolves have a chance to face Roncalli in the second round on February 12th.
