If he is able to return to form, the Milwaukee Brewers may have added an under-the-radar former All-Star to its rotation earlier this week.
Wisconsin native Jordan Zimmermann signed with his home state team on Tuesday to a minor league deal. He left the Washington Nationals after the 2014 season, finishing that tenure with two straight All-Star appearances and a no-hitter. He signed a free-agent deal with the Detroit Tigers where he was riddled with injuries and posted a 5.63 ERA during his five-year stint.
Zimmermann, who is from Auburndale, Wis. and was a star pitcher at UW-Stevens Point. will be in camp when the Brewers open up Spring Training next week.
