It was a day of winning at the Kress Center for the Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams on Friday.
Earlier in the day, the Phoenix women cruised to an 80-56 win over UIC. After trailing after the first quarter, the Phoenix led the rest of the way, including outscoring the Flames 45-19 in the second half. Jasmine Kondrakiewicz earned her first double-double of her career with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Sydney Levy added 17 points and two others reached double figures.
In the men's game, the Phoenix saw an early lead evaporate before eventually winning 86-82 in overtime over Northern Kentucky. Josh Jefferson and Emmanuel Ansong led the Phoenix in scoring with 27 and 24 points respectively. The Phoenix outscored the Norse 12-8 to snap the visitors' six-game winning streak.
The women play at 11 a.m. while the men will play again at 4 p.m. at the Kress Center.
