Phoenix sweep Saturday slate

Both the men and the women's Green Bay Phoenix basketball squads collected victories on the final day of the regular season.

In Dayton, the Phoenix women won their matinee matchup against Wright State 61-56.  It was their sixth straight victory thanks to 20 points from Caitlyn Hibner and 10 points from Meghan Pingel. Former Luxemburg-Casco standout Cassie Schiltz scored 7 in the contest. The sweep of Wright State did nothing to improve their seed in the Horizon League Tournament. They will be the three seed and will host the highest remaining seed from the tournament's first round.

The Phoenix men were able to nab a home game in the Horizon League Tournament thanks to a 69-59 win over UIC. Amari Davis scored 20 points, Emmanuel Ansong registered 19 points, and PJ Pipes registered 18 points in the victory. The Phoenix will host IPFW at the Kress Center on February 25th.
