Brewers slug past White Sox in Cactus League opener

The Milwaukee Brewers played long ball in their 7-2 Cactus League win over the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon.

The Brewers hit four home runs on the afternoon which was kicked off in the first inning when Keston Hiura hit a three-run shot. The White Sox responded in the next half inning when Adam Engel hit his own home run to narrow the gap to 3-2. The Brewers took some of the drama out of the game in the fourth inning when Tyrone Taylor and Avisail Garcia hit a pair of solo home runs to make it 5-2. The Brewers capped off their scoring in the top of the sixth when Dylan Cozens went deep with a man on to make it 7-2.

The game ended in the sixth inning as a part of a mutual agreement between the two ballclubs. It is likely most teams are well over a week away from playing full nine-inning games.

The Brewers will hit the road again Monday afternoon when they play the Arizona Diamondbacks at 2:10 p.m.
