The Wisconsin Badgers continue to struggle to finish games as they battled but came up short on the road against the Purdue Boilermakers Tuesday night at Mackey Arena. The #23 Boilermakers shut down the Badgers late and claimed a 73-69 Big Ten victory. Purdue took advantage of 7’4” freshman Zach Edey’s presence inside to dominate the paint.
The game was close from start to finish as Edey finished with a career-high 21 points and Jaden Ivey added 18 more. Wisconsin lost for the fifth time in a row at Purdue as Brad Davison paced the Badgers with 15 points.
The #25 Badgers (16-10, 10-9 conference) will now try to regroup and finish the regular season with a win as they travel to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes on Sunday.
The Big Ten tournament starts up next week and the Badgers are looking to improve on a likely lower seed for the NCAA tournament when Selection Sunday happens on March 14.
