The Marquette Golden Eagles edged closer to the .500 mark on Tuesday with a 77-71 win at DePaul in Big East action. Turning a 36-36 tie at the half into a six-point victory, the Golden Eagles held the Blue Demons to just over 40 percent from the field to revenge an earlier 68-61 loss to DePaul (4-13, 2-13) in Milwaukee.
D.J. Carton led Marquette (12-13, 7-11 conference) with 20 points with 17 of those coming in the second half. Dawson Garcia and Koby McEwen added 12 more each for the Golden Eagles.
Marquette will now return home for an 8 pm matchup against Xavier on Saturday to finish conference play.
