The Milwaukee Brewers took a 4-0 lead and did not look back in its 8-5 win over the San Diego Padres in the desert Wednesday afternoon.
The Brewers struck first in the second inning when Mark Mathias scored on a wild pitch. The big blow came in the fourth inning when Pablo Reyes hit a three-run homer to put the Brewers up 4-0. The Padres would score five of the next six runs in the game with an RBI double in the seventh the lone Brewers tally. The Brewers would take control in the eighth inning thanks to a Garrett Mitchell RBI single, a second run scored on a wild pitch, and an RBI sacrifice fly by Kahle for a three-run rally.
The Brewers will play Cleveland at American Family Fields of Phoenix at 2:10 p.m.
