Sevastopol alum Max McHugh is bringing home plenty of gold from the Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships.
Now a junior at Minnesota, McHugh won two B1G titles in the pool including the 200 breaststroke (1:50.93) on Saturday and the 100 breaststroke earlier in the week. It was his third B1G title in his career. His 50.19 in the 100 breaststroke set a program and conference record and is currently the fastest time in the NCAA this season.
In other local college notes, Southern Door Senior Grant Englebert made it official that he will continue his wrestling career at UW-La Crosse. Englebert medaled two of his three times at the state meet, including a second-place finish in 2021.
