Local youth wrestlers post successful weekend

Local youth wrestlers skipped the water slides and took to the mat this weekend for the WWF Kid Folkstyle State Championships in Wisconsin Dells.

 

For Southern Door, Jonah LeFevre took second in the Boys 2012-2013 / 57 lb division and Sydney Turner placed sixth in the Girls 2008-2009 / 125 lb division. Eighteen total wrestlers participated in the tournament with every Eagles wrestler getting at least one victory.

 

 

For Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol, Patrick Haese made the semis but had to injury default out of the tournament after starting out with 3 straight pins, he finished 6th. Ashley Ruiz and Yazzie Levine finished 4th and 5th. Layla Stai took 6th.

 

 

For Kewaunee, Mitchell Boeder took 1st place in the Boys Born 2008-09 235 lb division and Benjamin Vangoethem took 2nd in the Boys Born 2008-09 210 division. 

 

For Luxemburg-Casco, Aiden Kolstad took 4th in the Boys Born 2012-13 63 division, Zachary Delebreau finished in third in the Boys Born 2010-11 150 division, Carson Neubert finished atop the podium in the Boys Born 2008-09 S1 85 division. Luke Driedric finished in 5th in the Boys Born 2008-09 140 division, Aj Delebreau placed 3rd in the Boys Born 2008-09 165 division, and Javier Contreras placed 3rd in his Boys Born 2008-09 235 Exhibition division while also winning his actual bracket at the meet. Carson Blohowiak took 4th in the Boys Born 2006-2007 S1 90 division, and Kiley Georgel took 2nd in the Girls Born 2008-09 150 Exhibition while also winning her actual bracket during the weekend long tournament.
