The Milwaukee Brewers have gone back and forth between winning and losing each day they’ve taken the diamond this month, and Monday they won in a back and forth contest. After a day off and a loss to the Cubs the last time they’ve taken the field, the Brewers got out to a fast start on the way to a 10-9 victory in a six and a half inning game against the Los Angeles Angels.
Milwaukee was also backed by three-run innings in the bottom the fourth inning then again in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Crew headed into the frame down two runs. The scoring to come from behind was done when Mark Mathias hit an RBI single and Mario Feliciano hit a two-RBI triple in the bottom of inning six. Milwaukee’s Bryce Turang hit a solo homerun in the fourth inning. The Angels were up 9-7 going into that inning. Los Angeles was not without offense though as they scored multiple runs in all but the first, third, and seventh innings.
Justin Topa of the Brewers was credited with the win on the mound and Angel Perdomo came in for the save. The Brewers record in Spring Training improves to 5-3 and they will face the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday with first pitch scheduled at 2:10 P.M.
