Five-run inning difference maker in Brewers win

In Friday’s seven-inning Spring Training game against the rival Chicago Cubs, the Milwaukee Brewers pulled away when they scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning in the 8-3 win. The Brewers started the scoring when they got two runs in the top of the third inning. After heading into the fifth inning up 2-0, Dylan Cozens drove a solo homerun to put the Crew up 3-0. In the sixth inning, a three RBI triple from Jace Peterson followed by a two-run homerun by Billy McKinney was enough to put the game out of reach for the Cubs. The five run inning brought the game’s score to 8-0. Chicago would score a run in the bottom of the sixth inning and two in the bottom seventh, but it was not enough to cut into the eight run lead.

With the win Milwaukee improves to 7-5 in the exhibition season. The Cubs are now 7-4 in Spring Training. The Brewers will face the Rangers on Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for 2:10 P.M. CST.
