Gamblers split weekend series

After the Green Bay Gamblers were shut out on Friday by their rival to the south, the Chicago Steel, the Gamblers turned their play around on Saturday. The Gamblers opened the scoring in the first period, but gave up the next two goals. Chicago went into the first intermission with a 2-1 lead. The Gamblers would tie the game up in the second period and take back the lead in the third. Saturday’s final score from the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, IL was 3-2 Green Bay. The Gamblers had goals from Camden Thiesing, Owen Murray, and Ryan Kirwan.

The upper-hand in this season series belongs to the Steel as their series record is 5-2-1 against Gamblers. Chicago and Green Bay are at the top of the east standings, with Chicago in the top slot. The Gamblers will return to the Resch Center on Tuesday where they will face off against the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 P.M.
