Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 33 points on Friday as the Milwaukee Bucks battled to victory over the Washington Wizards, 125-119. The game was close throughout and saw more than its fair share of lead changes. The Wizards went into halftime up 65-64. The game was tied with just over four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and from there Milwaukee was able to regain the lead and hang on for the six point victory. Jrue Holiday put up 18 points and Khris Middleton dropped 16 points. This was enough to overcome a 42 point effort from the Wizards’ Russell Westbrook.
The win marks three straight for the Bucks, and their second since All-Star Week. Milwaukee has a 24-14 record this season and is currently at third place in the East standings. The Wizards’ record is now 14-23, and they are currently tied for twelfth in the East standings. The Bucks won’t have to go far before their next game. The two teams will meet again in Washington on Monday at 6:00 P.M.
