Packers lose Linsley

All-Pro Center Corey Linsley will move from one of the NFL’s all-time greatest Quarterbacks to one of the NFL’s most promising young stars. After snapping for the Green Bay Packers the last seven season, the former Walton Payton Man of the Year Award nominee got paid a top-tier contract to join fellow former Packers Offensive Lineman Bryan Baluga and sign with the Los Angeles Chargers, where he will protect for last season’s Rookie of the Year, Justin Herbert. Linsley inked a five-year, $62.5 million dollar deal to join LA. It is unclear who will anchor the Packers offensive line for this coming season.

The Packers do have two players on their roster who have started games at Center, with Elgton Jenkins and Lucas Patrick. That number could increase if they do retain Lane Taylor, who is set to be a free agent. Green Bay also drafted Center Jake Hansen from Oregon and versatile Offensive Lineman Jon Runyan out of Michigan in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. With free agency looming and the new league year starting Wednesday, it remains to be seen who will snap to Rodgers in 2021.
