Booyah add two to roster

A duo of players who play their college baseball at Illinois-Springfield will be playing their Summer ball in Green Bay this year. The Green Bay Booyah announced that infielder Zion Pettigrew and left-handed Pitcher Mason Coon would be joining their 2021 roster. Pettigrew was a hot bat through the first ten games this Spring for the Prairie Stars, finishing .455 at the plate with two home runs and a .567 on-base percentage. Pettigrew was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week once this Spring. After his Freshman season at Kirkwood Community College, Pettigrew did play 18 games in a Summer with the La Crosse Loggers and hit .286. So he is coming with Northwoods experience.

Mason Coon, a St. Joseph, IL native will be on the Booyah pitching staff. In three seasons at UI-Springfield, Coon has appeared in 23 games on the mound and has stuck out 14.6 batters per nine innings. Opening day is scheduled for June 1st when Green Bay hosts the Fon Du Lac Spiders.
